Proteomics The Beckman PF2D gives high resolution analysis of complex protein mixtures. The proteins are separated first by pI (1st dimension chromatofocusing) then further fractionated by hydrophobicity (2nd dimension reverse-phase chromatography). The 2nd dimension liquid fractions can be used immediately (ie: for mass spectrometry) or stored at -80°C for later analysis. Some of the advantages of the PF2D versus traditional 2D gel procedures include:
We suggest making an appointment with Dr. Allison Gillaspy and/or Jenny Gipson to meet and talk about how we can best fulfill your research needs. At that time, we could then schedule dates for sample runs. We need one week of running time (which includes both the 1st and 2nd dimensions) for each sample. Although samples can be submitted in advance and stored at -80°C, we require that a sample must be submitted by the Thursday before the scheduled run. To schedule a meeting or ask a question, please see our contact information listed below. Thank you. Mapping Tools Software
